We had a peachy afternoon as our chefs and Executive Director showcased some lovely homemade peach treats at our Peach Social. Our residents and guests enjoyed our featured homemade treats including, peach meringue, peach crumble, peach cookies and peach scones topped with roasted almonds.
Hats off to our red seal chefs for creating such delicious treats for everyone to sample.
We are very lucky in the Niagara Region to be surrounded by the fruit orchards. Visitors and locals are fortunate enough to have access to a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables that are grown right here in Niagara. The majority of Ontario’s tender fruit crop such as peaches, pears, prunes, plums and cherries, raspberries and strawberries come from the Niagara Peninsula. Its a beautiful scenic drive down the Niagara Parkway and in July & August its the perfect time to stop by one of the roadside stands operated by the farmers to get some fresh fruits and produce.
