The Royal Henley Retirement Community has granted another special “Living List” wish. Every year Signature Retirement Living looks forward to granting living list wishes for our residents. This year we granted Sam’s wish.
Sam’s wish was to go to a Winnipeg Blue Bombers football game and was lucky enough to have his best friend Marco join him. Lifestyle Coordinator Lauren reached out to Dan Marino the Community Relations & Game Day Coordinator of the Winnipeg Bombers and he was generous enough to gift two tickets to the home opener on Friday June 9th. This game was in Winnipeg against the Hamilton Tiger Cats! Sam and Marco were invited to join a VIP dinner before the game and even got to be on the field while they practiced the day before.
We presented this trip opportunity to Sam in April and he was very excited for the big trip. This was so special for Sam because he hasn’t been back to see a game in Winnipeg in over 30 years. Sam and Marco both grew up in Winnipeg which made this experience even more special because while there they were able to meet with old friends and make new memories.
Thank you to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, coach Mike O’Shea and Dan Marino for helping us grant Sam’s wish! As you can see in the below photos they had a fabulous time. Their smiles say it all! We are fortunate to get to know our amazing residents and already cannot wait to grant another wish next year.
